Beth-El Food and Aunt Berta's

Even though Aunt Berta’s Specialty Foods was established a dozen years ago, it actually began three generations back with Aunt Berta’s grandmother. Living in a small European mountain village, grandma took the choice fresh fruits she lovingly grew on her farm, cooked them over the open fire of her kitchen’s hearth, added a healthy sprinkling of sugar and tender loving care, and turned them into mouthwatering preserves and marmalades. When her daughter was old enough to cook by her side, she taught her how to bring out the natural flavor of the bubbling fruit and when to stop in order to preserve its natural color. Together the two performed their own home-grown tastings for texture and flavor. When the consistency and taste were just right, they would stop and pour their secret formula into jars.

The years went by and Aunt Berta quickly found herself a third generation family cook specializing in preserves. Moving to Israel, where she inspired the establishment of Aunt Berta’s Specialty Foods, she continued the family tradition of growing lush, juicy fruits that could be turned into preserves and marmalades. Until her dying day, Aunt Berta continued to adapt family recipes to different fruit varieties. In addition, she took her heirloom recipes one step further by introducing favorite family, hand-made baked goods to her product line-up.

Today Aunt Berta’s Specialty Foods is headquartered in Israel, with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities located in Israel’s coastal and northern regions. The company’s products include marmalades, preserves, sauces, fruit spreads, cookies, crackers, and pralines. The delicious, comforting flavor of Aunt Berta's delicacies are found in homes throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
